Power station technology
Accuracy gives you the (competitive) lead
We developed for our customers a test bench to calibrate burner components which can be used in power stations all over the world. So far, specially trained staff of the development department had to carry out measurements with portable instruments which led to long travels and also inaccuracies. EP Engineering succeeded in developing a highly accurate test bench with an intuitive operating software which can be operated by corporate service staff on site. The advantages are considerable cost saving, more accurate measurements and improved values of exhaust air in the power stations, all leading to significant energy savings. A (competitive) advantage not only for our customers, but also for our environment.
Tailor made to customer requirements: our test bench to calibrate burner components
Since the test bench should be delivered to power stations all over the world, a concise design which would meet the dimensions of a standard aircraft container was especially important to us. The system consists of a pressure supply module with heat exchanger, a switchgear cabinet, a measurement module with the sensor system and the control unit. The test bench is designed as a manually loaded test bench with automated capturing of measurement data. The required mass flow is varied via the rotation speed of the lateral channel blower. With this layout, the system can also be used in high altitudes since the suction power can also be obtained at low atmospheric pressure. The calibration workflow can be edited freely with a software menu. All measurement data is captured and stored. A broad range of flow test benches for development and calibration tasks as well as for devices subject to verification complete our product portfolio. We develop flow test benches not only for air, but also for many other gases like nitrogen, hydrogen, natural gas or components of natural gas, such as methane, propane or butane. This is how we also set the standards in gas measurement technology.
