The SonicMaster Flow® system, or SMF®, consists of a nozzle drum with Laval nozzles, which are operated in the critical state. The nozzle can be stably set to an exact flow in a very short time (100 ms). In the ideal state, the nozzles are binary staggered so that you can configure various flow rates in the increment of the smallest nozzle value. The data acquisition and evaluation is carried out in the SMF® system based on a PC with LabVIEW. The operating medium is air that is atmospherically drawn in by a vacuum pump. An optional operation with compressed air and the use of other gases is possible.

The classic application area for our measurement applications with laminar flow elements for the precise measurement of air / gas volume and mass flows is laboratory applications where the meter is suitable for mobile use. But it is also often used as a fixed, independent evaluation unit. As measuring equipment, the laminar flow element in this case has a very large measuring range of up to 1:100 and boasts a very fast response speed. The core of the LMF®system is the FlowProcessor, a PC system with corresponding data acquisition hardware. The measuring systems can be used in a pressure range from 0.1...8 bar absolute and in the temperature range from 10°C to 50°C. Larger temperature and pressure ranges are also possible, but must be checked in advance technically depending on the application. In this case, please simply get in touch with us. This is an example of the high-precision, volume flow measurement, with Venturi nozzles, ultrasonic flow meters and laminar flow elements. The test bench shown is used for recording characteristic curves of fans and ventilators. The pressure loss caused by the measuring section is compensated by a support fan so that atmospheric conditions prevail at the device under test. Using Venturi nozzles, ultrasonic flow meters or Laminar flow elements, the volume flow is measured, which varies depending on the speed of the fan. The measurement results can be displayed either in volume per motor revolution or air volume per time unit.
