Real Gas Calibration

Reality over theory: Real-world conditions in calibration

„If you measure with different gases, you should also test with the same gases.”
– Alper Tortoc, Head of Calibration Laboratory

At EP Ehrler Prüftechnik Engineering, we have successfully commissioned our Real Gas Loop – and have already carried out the first customer measurements.

Many flow meters are still tested under idealized conditions. In practice, however, they operate with real gases, real pressures, and real operating conditions. Our new test bench enables exactly these realistic tests.

Technical Highlights of our Real Gas Loop

  • Flow range: 0.2 – 250 m³/h
  • Operating pressure: up to 16 bar
  • Media: Air, Nitrogen, Helium, Hydrogen, Natural Gas
  • Closed-Loop-Design for long measurement times and resource-efficient operation

Hydrogen blending, new gas qualities, volatile compositions: Reality is becoming more complex. Especially in accredited environments, the following applies:

The reproducibility of real-world conditions determines the validity of results.

The Real Gas Loop from EP Ehrler Prüftechnik helps users to:

  • Replicating real operating conditions
  • Making deviations visible at an early stage
  • Meeting regulatory requirements more robustly

The key question is no longer, “Do we meet the standard?”
But: Are we testing reality?

The Real Gas Loop from EP Ehrler Prüftechnik is not a “nice-to-have.”

It is the logical evolution of precise testing technology.
